I am smiling as I watch the election returns.
I have about 150 Facebook friends.
About 5% of my friends are extremely vocal about politics.
About 2% of my friends are mildly vocal about politics.
That leaves 93% of us who are not willing to engage.
Silence on Facebook doesn’t mean we do not think, though. And it doesn’t mean we do not vote.
That’s what I love about Election Day.
I don’t have to tell my vocal friends that I disagree with them. And I don’t have to argue with them.
On Election Day, I get the same number of votes as each of them gets. One.
My voice is equal to theirs. Not as loud. Not as irate. But equal.
I am smiling.
